The Greater Vancouver Zoo’s mission is to inspire appreciation of various ecosystems and support conservation efforts by engaging communities throughout the Lower Mainland. In alignment with this mission, the GVA zoo sought out the help of Lafarge to aid in the restoration of their hippo enclosure after years of erosion and degradation from their 4000-pound inhabitants!

Thanks to the donation made by Lafarge’s Aggregates division, the hippos have a larger and more solid foundation to roam around on. We hope that this donation will not only benefit the hippos’ quality of life, but will also help to promote the zoo’s commitment to furthering the education and conservation of animals and their ecosystems.
