Clearbrook Hosts Heavy Equipment Operator Students From Abbotsford School District

heavy equipment operator “There is an ever-increasing demand for skilled workers specializing in Heavy Equipment Operations. With over $5.3 billion and 859 capital road infrastructure projects currently underway, this is the time to start your training” – Abbotsford School District career program posting

As part of the Abbotsford School District Heavy Equipment Operator course, they spent some time touring a couple of the Lafarge Plants in the Fraser Valley. Tim Higginson, Plant Manager at the Abbotsford Ready Mix Plant hosted thirteen energetic grade 12 students from Yale Secondary School, showcasing the shop facilities and specifically the maintenance department.

Special thanks to Derrick Kemp who explained to the students what is entailed in servicing and maintaining the fleet of Ready Mix trucks. After spending the morning with our knowledgeable Lafarge staff at the Abbotsford Ready Mix Plant, these grade 12 students are one step closer to embarking on their career as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation – Thank You

RMHF Thank You Letter

Murray Giffen
Territory Manager – North Fraser River
Lafarge

Dear Murray,

From the tiniest newborns to the eldest members of our community, everyone benefits from the work of the Foundation to provide the best care and latest equipment at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

Thanks to your generous support the 24th Annual Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Gala, presented again this year by Fraser River Pile & Dredge, was a tremendous success. Together, sponsors donors, guests, and volunteers at the event raised over $238,000 for essential equipment at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

Through the generosity of supporters like you, the funds raised at the Gala have led to better patient care, faster diagnosis, and more effective treatment for everyone in our community. We are so very grateful to have the opportunity to partner with you for better health care in our community.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and patients – thank you for your commitment to your community and your hospital. Together we are changing lives and saving lives.

With sincere appreciation,

Laura Butler
